So, how exactly can you dismantle your treadmill for easy transportation? The answer is in the rest of this article so read on.

Disassemble Your NordicTrack Treadmill

Taking apart your NordicTrack treadmill involves many steps. Some of them have to do with bringing out the console while others involve dismantling the other components of the machine.

You will be interested to know that some NordicTrack treadmill models can even be folded just as they can be dismantled. While folding is perfect for when you simply want to store the machine, it will be necessary to break up the machine when you need to go service the console.

The number one and most important step when dismantling your NordicTrack treadmill is to remove the console. Once this is settled, you can then proceed to open up the machine’s side post. It’s fine if you have no idea how to bring out the console because there’s a guide just for you below.

How to Separate The console from Your NordicTrack treadmill

Step 1: Before anything else, unplug the treadmill from its source of power. This step is extremely important. Why? it’s dangerous to open up your treadmill while it is still plugged to an electricity source.

Step 2: Once you have successfully unplugged the treadmill, look for your console wire. This wire has two pieces which are usually located at the rear of the console, very close to the handrail on the left side. After locating them, disconnect these two wires by pulling them apart.

Step 3: Now is the time to separate grounding wire and treadmill. The grounding cord is a slim wire protruding from behind your NordicTrack’s console and from a small hole around the middles.

Step 4: Next, grab a screwdriver that you’ll use to loosen the screws keeping the clamps on the upper unit in place. Doing this will make it very easy for you to bring out your console clamp. Make sure to remove the screws using a good Phillips screwdriver or even a 9-inch rod. They make it very easy to loosen the screws.

Step 5: Once you’re done, go ahead and separate your treadmill from the console. The perfect tool to use for this is your Phillips screwdriver.

Find all 6 screws holding your console in place and then start removing them. You will likely find that the 6 screws holding your console are grouped into three: 2 screws are in the centre, 2 are by your left side, while the other 2 are on your right-hand side.

Step 6: This is the part where you remove your console from the frame supporting it. If you manage to get the console off, then know you’ve done the major part of the disassembling.

Removing this part alone constitute 70 percent of the overall disassembling job. So, once you succeed, give yourself a little tap at the back for a job well done.

What next? You must now dismantle your treadmill itself. If the upright of your NordicTrack treadmill is not one of those that fold inside the machine’s base, it means you’ll be removing it altogether. NordicTrack treadmill has different models which means the different standing frames of each model may not be exactly similar.

Take the wires you’ve detached from your console and go store them in a secure place. Extract every bolt holding down each upright. All the bolts should not be more than 8. Once you’re done loosening them, carefully keep them in a safe place. Wrap the upright using a very protective material.

What is left with you now is the bottom of your NordicTrack treadmill and you can’t disassemble this. So, get a good material like a blanket or something similar that can protect, and then wrap it around the base of your treadmill.

Important Notice

Never place anything on your disassembled treadmill parts including the machine’s base. This can easily damage the treadmill.

Also, ensure that your treadmill is being arranged properly whenever you’re reassembling it back. Everything has to be on the right level and the way you’ll make sure of this is by monitoring the belt tracking.

The process will be a lot easier for you if there’s someone there to assist you. So, if possible, ask someone to give you a hand.
